(324) – A Fresh Graduate

So, the first thing you’re expected to do after graduation from school and getting your degree is to find a job and start making money. I am more convinced of the money now than I used to simply because it gives you options, so i’ll be concerned about making lots of money until I have the options all of us need to live a comfortable life.

Personally, I’ve got a couple of plans for the near future and need the money as soon as possible, that’s why I decided to get any job and save up. My friends and family again did not agree because I’m an engineer now and expected to get a better job than a cashier in a shopping mall. Well, they don’t understand how much I need the money. I’ve been looking for a job since last week, got one as a security guard but still not sure about it. One of my best friends who’s a really good engineer told me to visit as many companies as I can and apply to them even if they don’t have vacancies, the point is to get in there and start your career. I agreed with him but still not sure that I’d do something similar one day.

The good thing is that I’m no longer preoccupied with school and tests. I wake up early in the morning, read in my book, chill out and do what I enjoy doing. At the same time, I’m planning and figuring things out, reviving old plans and passions I buried so long ago during the last year; so many options but one’s got to be careful and attentive always, yet not lose his passion.

(323) – YOU HAVE GREATNESS WITHIN YOU!

“Your power is beyond your comfort zone. Do something that stretches you beyond what you have previously thought possible ~ either with your body, mind, spirit, or life goals. Nurture within yourself a growth mindset that says “there is more for me” ~ more life, more love, more to learn, more to experience and achieve.

Make it OK to be uncomfortable. That is the place to discover the strength and power to create a new you! You have something special. You have GREATNESS within you!” – Les Brown

The first thing I read on Facebook News Feed everyday in the morning is Mr. Brown’s status update. He always has something great and inspiring to share so I start my day with such powerful words of motivation that keep me going all day long determined to achieve at least one thing on that particular day. Well, I thought there has to be a more productive way to make the best out of these words. I mean, I felt I can do more and not just say “i’m inspired”…

It took me the couple of years to figure out my hobbies and what I really like to do in life when I’m not working/studying. Well, watching many talent shows, Arab’s Got Talent in particular, opened my eyes to such deeper sides of my personality and made me dig into the weeds looking for that talent of mine that will qualify me one day to go up on the stage and do my job. Actually, I expected it to be an easy work when in fact it wasn’t and still not to find that true talent. Then I remembered the above quote “YOU HAVE GREATNESS WITHIN YOU!” Everyone of us is good, well, great at something that only he can do better than the others which means YOU and I can do what we are supposed to be doing if only we could get our hands on it.

Now school is over, I think I have much time free during the day to figure out that little talent in me and purify it, shape it and shine like a diamond. Things may not be easier now but they sure are way more interesting and worth it. Not only me, everyone of us has to show their inner beauty and never be afraid of judgement. And please, for God’s sake, stay POSITIVE, as much as you can. I’m still sympathizing for my friend who’s lost his talent just because some people decided to steel it away from him… You don’t do that!

(322) – Today, I graduate!

“But one thing is certain, you’re not the same person who walked in”

It feels right and true. It took me five years and a half to graduate and get my Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, the thing I hate most in life but we made it at last. I still can’t believe my eyes; did I really graduate? did I just make it? OH, it’s been so long five years but now it feels just like yesterday. The first day I walked in through the main gate, it was completely a new experience and life to discover, my friends and family told me I’ll never forget these days because university is the place where you don’t have any responsibilities but to study. Well, I will not forget it because I had such a bigger responsibility to take care of, it was my future. I may not be that good engineer you expect but I’ve got something in mind that’ll come out at the right time.

My family still can’t believe their eyes; my mom’s still asking me accidentally sometimes to go study but no more. 🙂 My dad’s out of the country and he can’t wait to come back, look me in the eye and say “screw you, son! you made it my biggest wish to see you an engineer” 🙂 That’s true, it’s been tough for everyone but for me, it was enlightening as well as inspiring.

I knew life will start for real after graduation, it ain’t be any easier but I’m truly hopeful and looking forward to it. Work, jobs, experiences, people, responsibilities and many more things are to be discovered now and I’m welcoming all that. The first thing I’m going to work on is my blog; as a friend of mine suggested, it’s now going to be Till Graduation and Beyond, hopefully I’ll be able to share more stories with you and we’ll make it right to a better life.

Please, enjoy Madonna’s new song, Devil Pray and save your souls. 🙂 🙂 🙂

(320) – To Kill A Mockingbird

It’s one of the highest recommended books in the history of reading and I am finally getting a chance to read it. However, I’m trying something new this time; I’ve downloaded the audiobook and am playing it while reading the real book. Well, the purpose is to help my spoken English because I couldn’t and still can’t afford a tutor to help my pronunciation, not that it’s bad but I want to be better.

I’ve tried to do that today, I couldn’t read loudly with the audiobook, had a few problems with concentrating and understanding the story because when you’re a bilingual, it takes a bit longer to think of what you’re reading unless you’ve got a proper help but I’m still determined on trying something new. I highlight the words I can’t pronounce well then go back to read it again on my own. Sometimes I read the same paragraph two or three times especially when there’s a new word to me, it’s actually interesting.

So what do you think of that? is it a good way to learn from the audiobook? do you recommend another policy that shall assist my reading as well as speaking skills? most importantly, have you read the book? what do you think of it? I’d like a second opinion. 🙂

(319) – What? Nominated? Award? Inspiring?

The year of 2014 was so generous to bring me to meet one true man whom I used to think is perfect when in fact, he’s a completely natural man with ambitions, desires and sins. That made him more real in my eyes and was the reason behind our strong friendship because being imperfect is somehow perfect in itself. I did not want to talk about Jim Wright until he leaves Jordan going back home next month because I know I’ll miss him and get emotional, but I had to mention what a great person he is and to quote Sam Smith:

“He could be a sinner, or a gentleman
He could be a preacher when your soul is damned
He could be a lawyer on a witness stand”

A couple of days ago, Olbigjim posted a new blog on his Facebook page and as usual, I immediately pressed on the link to read what story he has this time for us when suddenly I noticed my name down among other great bloggers; I have been nominated for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. My eyes popped out and I was like “What? Nominated? Award? Inspiring?”

Well, apparently, I’m doing a good job without even knowing about it. When I first started blogging, I did not expect I’d continue and inspire any person with my humble stories as well as diaries but it’s all about having a goal, a destination in mind and determination in heart. I stopped blogging for so long but now the inspiration is back with more hope.

Now i’m nominated for the award, I have four tasks to perform and they are:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you, and link to their blog.
  2. Display the award logo.
  3. Nominate at least 15 other blogs and provide a link where they may be found. Then go to their blog, leave a comment to let them know they’ve been nominated, and where to find the information they need to accept (rules).
  4. Mention three things that inspired you the most during the past few weeks.

Very Inspiring Blogger Award - Rally's Beauty Highway

Thank you so much my dearest Jim for everything, it’s truly been a pleasure to meet you on a personal level and get to spend sometime with you. As for my nominees, it’s going to be a tough job because there are so many bloggers that I respect and love to read what they publish on their blogs. I’d like to apologize for not viewing your blogs as much lately but I’ve been going through a rough patch in my time, hopefully, I’ll be able to read and comment on what I’ve missed in the last few months.

My nominations for Very Inspiring Blogger Award are:

  1. Meticulous Mick
  2. My Success Is Your Success
  3. Kmabarrett
  4. Cindy Knoke
  5. Walk with me on my journey of illness to the road of happiness and a life of fulfillment
  6. Sheri de Grom
  7. How The Cookie Crumbles
  8. A Pondering Mind
  9. BELSBROR
  10. Miss Your Eyes
  11. Black And Write
  12. Edith Levy Photography
  13. STORYSMITTEN
  14. Awesome AJ
  15. Kira Moore’s Closet

Well, it’s time now to mention three things that inspired me in the last few weeks.

First, I think it’s wintertime; I love the rain and snow. I love to walk under the rain, get wet then when I’m home sit by the window listening to the rain again. It’s been snowing here for a couple of days, I posted two blogs on that, you can check here.

Second, it’s motivation. I get high on motivation speeches. I’m trying to start my day with listening to a couple of inspiring as well as motivational words that make me get up and active by the great Les Brown. I highly recommend all his speeches and if you ever get a chance to attend one of his shows, then you must do. Check out his Facebook page.

Lastly, feeling accepted and loved by my family and friends is always a source of hope, inspiration as well. The feeling that somebody loves you, accepts you even when you don’t accept yourself is truly inspiring.

Thank you everyone for making some time to visit my blog and help me make it successful. I’ve done my best with the nominations, there are still lots of great blogs here so maybe this year I’ll make more time to discover them. Thank you Jim Wright again for the nomination, I’m so looking forward to meet you the soonest. 🙂
